Welded Beams WB
AS/NZS 3679.2Three-plate welded I-sections for long spans and heavy loads beyond the universal beam range. Dimensions, section properties, AS 4100 capacities and free DXF drawings for all 23 sizes.
Welded beams (WB) are three-plate I-sections fabricated to AS/NZS 3679.2 from AS/NZS 3678 plate. They extend the range above the 610UB with depths from 700 to 1200 mm for long-span floors, transfer girders, crane runway girders and portal frames. Section properties ignore the small contribution of the web-to-flange fillet welds.

Frequently asked questions
- Are WB properties including the fillet welds?
- No. Properties are calculated for the three plates only, which is the conventional (slightly conservative) approach.
Relevant Australian Standards
